Make looking your best a daily habit (Guest Post)

Since this is my first guest post, I’ve been racking my brain about what to write. I asked myself, if I had one message to tell, what would it be? The answer was- to look your best. It’s one of the easiest ways of loving yourself and boosting your self-esteem. Confidence and happiness can be generated from the outside in. Meaning that even if you’re not feeling like a million bucks, if you look like a million bucks, you’ll soon start feeling it. And Ladies, this applies to you regardless of age and body shape.

The problem is I see too many women who only dress up for an occasion or a party. Meet them any other time and they look less than their gorgeous best. I want you to make looking your best a daily habit.
“But there’s no one to look good for.” You don’t have to look good for anyone. You have to look good for yourself. Anytime in a day when you catch your reflection in a mirror, do you want to cringe and wish you’d put in more effort or smile because you know you look great?

“I don’t have the time to dress up and put on make-up in the morning.” Yes, you do. Even if you have to sacrifice 30 minutes to an hour of sleep, it’s worth it. And it’s really not that much of an effort. Lay out your clothes and accessories the night before so you don’t scramble in the morning. If you don’t like putting on a lot of make-up, swipe on some lipstick and mascara before you head out. It’ll make you look fresher.

It’s easier to make a routine of dressing up when you have all that you need in your wardrobe. Invest in basic items like dark wash jeans, a black blazer, black pants, a white button-down shirt, a black pencil skirt and nude pumps. These basic items can be mixed with other items to give you many different looks. Get rid of anything that doesn’t make you feel gorgeous when you have it on.

When you constantly put in an effort to look amazing, it tells others around you that you respect yourself. And it gives them the silent signal that they too must respect you. So go on, show yourself some love by wearing the cuts/ colours/ prints/accessories that flatter your personality and body type the most. Remember, why look great only on occasion when you can look fantastic every single day?
And here are a few looks I’ve taken from my blog, with the basic items I listed above.

My guest post blogger today is Shabana. She is an adorable young lady that reminds me very much of my youngest daughter. She lives in Bahrain, an island nation in the Arabian Gulf. I don’t know if she knows it but she has been my inspiration on more than one occasion. There are many days I’m down in my back and I don’t feel like “looking my best” but during these times I think of Shabana and in no time at all I’m looking my best which in turn does help me feel better. I visit her site often because I know I’m going to get great styling and fashion tips that will leave me looking and feeling my best. Thank you Shabana!
