Kindle #GIVEAWAY Plus 2 eBooks by Andrea Pearson

Happy Valentine’s Day. We love each of our readers and to show our love this Valentine’s Day, Terri’s Little Haven, Grandma Bonnie’s Closet, and Andrea Pearson, have teamed up with some super awesome bloggers to give you a chance to win a Kindle Touch with Special Offers and 2 wonderful eBooks by Andrea Pearson; The Key of Kilenya and The Ember Gods, books 1 and 2 of the Kilenya Series.

The Key of Kilenya

Book Description:
When two vicious wolves chase fourteen-year-old Jacob Clark down a path from our world into another, his life is forever changed. He has no idea they have been sent by the Lorkon—evil, immortal beings who are jealous of powers he doesn’t know he possesses—powers they desire to control.

The inhabitants of the new world desperately need Jacob’s help in recovering a magical key that was stolen by the Lorkon and is somehow linked to him. If he helps them, his life will be at risk. But if he chooses not to help them, both our world and theirs will be in danger. The Lorkon will stop at nothing to unleash the power of the key—and Jacob’s special abilities.

The Ember Gods

Description
Jacob Clark has just returned from the world of Eklaron, where he frustrated the evil plans of the Lorkon and returned the magical Key of Kilenya to its rightful owners. His quest is far from over, though—Aloren is trapped in Maivoryl City by the Ember Gods, and Jacob can’t return to save her until he receives the potion that will protect his team from the corrosive influence of the Lorkon.

Balancing between this new world and his own proves tricky. Not only has he started his first year of high school, but his magical abilities are bringing him too much attention. He feels pulled by both sides, hoping he’ll figure out his special powers to save Aloren in time.

To start off with I want to say that I really like reading fantasy novels of every sort. My best friend in grammar school was a great artist, even then, and she drew me every imaginably mysterious fantasy character over the course of our grammar years until we moved away. We would spend hours making up stories about them. She sparked an interest in me that I’ve had every since. I grew up loving the fantasy genre, magic realism, horror fiction, science fantasy, mystery, adventure, you name it. We moved back to the area when I was in high school and we resumed our friendship. I was amazed at how much her talent had grown. Interestingly enough she is the niece of one of the most notorious serial killers so I’ll leave her name a mystery (as if that wasn’t a big clue).

I reached out to an author a few months back about doing a book review for her on her new book because she was looking for some blog reviewers. It was a fantasy novel which was what sparked my interest. She responded to me with a reply that went something like this… due to my age she didn’t think we were a good fit. I was mortified. At 49 I can’t have an imagination anymore? Seriously? I felt I was inappropriately stereotyped. Needless to say, I quit “reaching out” to authors.

Then along came Andrea Pearson with her marvelous fantasy novels and I was asked to review a book for her. I’ve been reading everything I can from her since. Not because she didn’t stereotype me as the other author did, but because her writing is that good. Reading fantasy provides a way to escape to a world where you rely on your imagination and the tale the author spins, which can be as powerful as your imagination will allow it to be. I have a very vivid imagination EVEN AT 49. I’ve read some really “dark” fantasy books which I thoroughly enjoyed (but I wouldn’t let my grand-kids read them) and I’ve read medium “light” fantasy books which I enjoyed as well. After reading Andrea Pearson’s books I would categorize them as clean, super light, adventurous and fun. Teenagers as well as adults will enjoy this series. I would even go as far as to say that pre-teens would enjoy the series based on my experience with my oldest grand-child. My grandson who will be 10 this year already loves the fantasy genre as well and I intend to let him read this series when he and his younger sister spend the summer with us. I encourage his reading and we spend hours every week all summer long at the library. Like him, I love books that keep me fascinated from beginning to end. You know the kind, you’re holding your breath waiting to see what is going to happen next, you’re sitting at the edge or your seat and you just can’t put the book down (or Kindle hee hee). That’s what you will get with The Key of Kilenya and The Ember Gods.

Jacob Clark is a realistic character with a realistic family that really cares about him. I think this is a good lesson in itself for teens. He has to make decisions that will affect his life just like we all do. And sometimes we don’t make the right choices and we have to live with the consequences. For fantasy novels, these books are easy to read and follow. They aren’t very long which will appeal to many especially because they are hard to put down once you start reading them. I was drawn to Jacob Clark from the very beginning in the first book and it continued through the second book. You can’t help but to like him. Both of these books get a perfect 5 star rating from me. I’m sitting on pins and needles as I think you will be too, waiting for book 3.

On Andrea Pearson’s blog she has the lists of where you can purchase the books if you don’t want to wait until the giveaway ends to start reading this fun, clean, and exciting book series.

About Andrea Pearson…

Andrea PearsonAndrea, a Brigham Young University graduate, is an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast (hiking, fishing, boating, biking, spending time in the Rocky Mountains, and taking walks). She spent a year and a half serving the Spanish speaking community in Toronto, Canada, and in total fluently speaks 2 ½ languages. She plays several instruments, not including the banjo, and loves putting together musical arrangements. Her favorite sports are basketball and football, though several knee surgeries and incurably awful coordination prevent her from playing them. Andrea is always in the mood for a good movie with close friends and family (especially her husband and mom), with a large glass of milk and a bowl of overly buttered popcorn nearby. She also enjoys oil painting, making earrings, squeezing every bit of oxygen out of Ziploc bags, and she hopes to someday travel to Italy and Alaska.
