Elephant Poo

I was so excited when the UPS carrier brought my latest goodies from Shoplet.com. I always have a lot of fun reviewing their products and especially their office supplies. My home office is slowly but surely coming together and having the best supplies in it from Shoplet is just too cool for words. I’m envied when I receive anything from them to review because just about everyone I know these days has a home office. It’s really fun sharing new review supplies with friends and family. I just don’t know how I got to be so lucky to be a Shoplet reviewer *grins*.

For this review I received the following products;

We are going to start with number two, elephant poo. Get it? HA I had to do it.

Roaring Spring Elephant PooPoo Paper

Roaring Spring Elephant PooPoo Paper

Roaring Spring Elephant PooPoo Paper

This product really is made from animal poo. Elephant recycled poo. These scratch pads come individually polywrapped and I’m not sure what I was expecting when I opened it but let me just say I’m happy they are odorless. The paper is nice and thick and just so unusual and unique. I’m all about recycling even if it is elephant poo poo lol. I’ve had a lot of fun writing on this paper. I was surprised at how smooth the paper is for writing on it because it appears to be really coarse when you glance at it. It’s a nice thick pad and will last me for a good while. The inscription on the front makes me smile every time I read it “BELIEVE in yourself” & I also love the cute designs on the front as well.

What I like about this? It’s unique and made from recycled “stuff”. Just think of all of the trees being saved by using elephant poo in it’s place. All of the grass being eaten by elephants that is not digested provides the fiber needed as the base material in making this paper.
What I don’t like about this? POOPOOPAPER™ takes the “oo” out of poo! There is nothing I don’t like about this.

The next thing I reviewed is a Roaring Spring Landscape Format Writing Pad-College Ruled.

Roaring Spring Landscape Format Writing Pad – College Ruled

The first thing I want to mention is that I love the nice wide landscape format on this recyclable writing pad. Its dimensions are 11″ x 9 1/2″ and it has 40 pages per pad. I also love that it is college ruled. If I’m going to write a lot of notes I want plenty of room to write them on. Abby has been doodling and drawing all over this pad today and it is her favorite because it gives her plenty of space to play. The writing pad hasn’t come apart at all even with Abby’s playing with it. The papers are glued nice and tight into the top spine. It’s white so it’s easily readable after taking notes. It fits nicely in my drawers although when I first saw it I was concerned that it wouldn’t. Now I know what sizes I can purchase in the future to stow away in my drawers.

What I like about this product? It has a nice width to it providing plenty of writing space. Another plus is that it’s made from recycled materials.
What I don’t like about this product? There is nothing I don’t like about this product.

Next up Roaring Spring Landscape Format Writing Pad – Quad Ruled.

Roaring Spring Landscape Format Writing Pad – Quad Ruled

This is another wide pad which is quad ruled. The dimensions are 11″ x 9 1/2″ and it has 40 sheets. Ruling: Quadrille 5 sq. It has horizontal and vertical lines evenly spaced on each page. The paper is white and the ruling color is blue which is very easy on the eyes. This is a great pad for making graphs. I used this product frequently in college and I had to stay stocked up on it. This can be used for handwriting and charting numbers as well. This is another product that is made from post consumer recyclable material. The paper is glued into the top spine and doesn’t fall out easily which is a plus in my book. I like things that hold well being as I’m as clumsy and uncoordinated.

What I like about this? It’s made from recycled content and the colors are pleasing to the eyes. Usually when there is a lot of print on paper it is hard on these eyes. Not so with this pad.
What I don’t like about this? I love it, just perfect.

The 4th thing I reviewed is a Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-1 Subject.

Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-1 Subject

Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-1 Subject

Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-1 Subject

Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-1 Subject

I’ve hidden this from the kids lol. I love this notebook. Wait… I’m IN love with this notebook. There, that’s more like it. It’s so cute and blue! I love the blue paper. When I have a lot of writing to do it will be a cheerful notebook to write in. This notebook comes in 4 different colors, blue, pink, green or purple. This is a quality made Genesis notebook. It’s a 1 subject notebook with 80 college ruled sheets 11×9. I love the nice durable vinyl cover, it can easily be washed off. The paper has a perforated edge for easy tearing, don’t you just hate tearing paper out of wirebound notebooks that don’t have a perforated edge? My second favorite thing about this notebook is that it has a pocket inside of it and on the back of the pocket is another pocket. I’m a note taker and I have notes stuck everywhere.

What I like about this? It’s so “bluetiful” and it’s made from post consumer recycled material. It has a pocket and it’s perforated. The wire is not thin and easily bent.
What I don’t like about this? There is nothing I don’t like about it, It’s my dream notebook.
Rating; 5/5

What’s better than a “bluetiful” notebook? How about a blue, pink and purple notebook. YES! Three times the fun. Color me happy.

Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-3 Subjects

Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-3 Subjects

Roaring Spring Wirebound Notebook-3 Subjects

My vinyl cover is purpleicious on this 3 subject notebook. You must know if I hid my blue one from the kids I’d have to put this one under lock and key. Okay well that would be a bit dramatic but it is one of my hidden ones as well. Who could not want to write when they have such a cute assortment of colors to do it on? This notebook is basically the same as above and I don’t want to repeat myself so I will just point out the difference which would be the amount of paper. With the 3 subject notebook it comes with 150 college ruled sheets. Each subject is a different color. Basically everything else is the same as the 1 subject.

What I like about this? EVERY SINGLE THING WEEEEEEEEEE…
What I don’t like about this? There is absolutely nothing I don’t like about this. <3 <3 <3

Roaring Spring Environotes Sugarcane Notebook

Roaring Spring Environotes Sugarcane Notebook

Roaring Spring Environotes Sugarcane Notebook

I always feel sad when I get to the end of my reviews for Shoplet. I guess because they always send the best things and I have a blast reviewing them. I’m already looking forward to the next review lol.

Without further ado, let me tell you about the last but certainly not least product I reviewed. The most amazing thing about this product in my humble opinion is that it is produced from sustainable sugarcane fiber. I love anything that is made from recycled material but when it’s a unique recycled material I’m just completely spellbound. The paper in this pad feels so neat. I received a black cover pad with white paper. The cover comes in 4 different colors, black, blue, green and red. The dimensions are 9 1/2″ x 6″ college ruled with 80 sheets per pad.

What I love about this? It’s made from recycled materials. It’s lightweight. It’s a really great writing pad.
What I don’t like about it? The sheets do not have a perforated edge. I really love perforated edges and this one thing might ordinarily prevent me from buying it in the future if it weren’t for the fact that the paper just feels so neat when I’m writing on it. It’s so smooth and it really feels like silk when I’m writing. I don’t like the feel of some paper, it’s dry and harsh on my skin when I have to do a lot of writing. For that reason I would buy this in the future. In fact I would stand in line to buy this product in the future. And of course because it’s made from a really unique material.

I hope you enjoyed my reviews as much as I enjoyed reviewing the products. Please share which paper notebook you would most likely purchase!? If you are looking for note pads be sure to visit Shoplet.com to select the best colorful notebooks.

I never knew anything like that existed!

  2. gaillynn says:

I cannot tell you how much I adore that elephant poo paper I don’t know why but that is awesome!

  3. That is just amazing to me how they can recycle poo to get paper! How ingenious! I would have been expecting a smell also but they don’t smell? How great is that! I’ll have to give them a try. Thank you for a great review. You sure changed my thoughts after reading this =D

  4. What a great way to recycle! I think I’d start giggling every time I used that paper…maybe I should get some for chore lists or other unpleasant things.

  5. Krystal M says:

Ooh, I like the bright colors on the Roaring Springs three color binder! It would be really fun to jot down little notes on. haha I think one time, my cousins gave out the elephant poo paper as a gag gift… haha

  6. Tammy S says:

I really like the bright colors of the paper. I would love to buy my daughter the Roaring Spring Elephant PooPoo Paper. She would freak! It would so be worth the money. :)

  7. Julie Wood says:

I think that this paper that is made out of Elephant poo is great because it is used with recycled waste which means less pollution to the environment. Also the products look really nice!

  8. Jeanine says:

The Genesis in pink is a must have!

  9. Sandra Dupal says:

Elephant Poo paper is something I gotta try! Oh my gosh I LOVE elephants and to have that in the name even would be worth it. And then to have something recycled called elephant poo would be hilarious and wonderful at the same time!

  10. Cheri Oggy says:

I would like to review some of the items that you review! It must be very interesting to do so. Especially with the Elephant Poo Paper! lol

  11. librarypat says:

POOPOOPAPER, what a great idea. Since the poo is mostly undigestible plant fiber, it is the perfect base for paper. When you look at the amount available every year, it would certainly replace a lot of trees. After the processing, there is no chance of smell or contamination. They are also using zoo poo for planter containers. Again, a perfect use of plant fiber and it acts as a soil additive s it decomposes.

  12. Deanna Sysco says:

I never knew they use elephant poo to make things with.Thats very interesting and seems a little gross ( sorry I’m sure it dont smell but just the thought of it lol ) I would love to review a few of these myself since my home office needs so much help.I’ve been trying to organize but not getting very far with it.

  13. zuzubailey says:

Terri – great review and I am certainly all for recycled products. I love the sugar cane notebook, I had no idea this could be done. I love notebooks and pens. I like to write on and with colored items since nowadays I have to keep lists and reminders for everything! BUT – I am sorry, I just don’t think I could purchase or use anything made from recycled poo from any animal except as a last resort. Yes I know elephants certainly make a lot of it and it’s nice to know it can reused, but certainly it can be reused as something else.

  14. Barbara Stenby says:

I would use Poo Paper! GREAT review will check out their website thanks!

  15. Mary Ann Knox says:

LOL!!!! I laughed so hard at the elephant poo paper!!! I totally want to get some of it to use in my classroom! Maybe it will motivate my kids to bring their own paper when they have to write on poo! ;-)

  16. Amy Baker says:

your review is awesome…I had no idea that paper could be made from poo….next fall back to school, this is what we’ll get…hopefully it will spark some classroom discussion of eco-consciousness!

  17. Lorayne Gothard says:

It is amazing everything that can be done with recyclable material. This is a great idea and I will definitely buy it!!

  18. Kristie Betts says:

I love the idea of recycled products, and my daughter would have a field day with the different color papers. I home school our kids and we use alot of paper. This is great thanks

  19. julieh says:

I love the idea of recycled products, but maybe this is a bit too much?

  20. LisaJohn6 says:

The idea of writing on recycled elephant poo is kind of gross but it also reduces our carbon footprint I guess…

  21. Elaine Bell says:

I’ll bet if elephant poo can be recycled and made into paper that other animal “by-products” could be recycled the same way. It also might cut down on “spit wads” if the kids knew from what the paper was made! lol Good Review, I had never heard of this company before.

  22. Lori Davis says:

How cool is that? Elephant dung paper? Sounds gross but heck, beats chopping down trees!

  23. Wow I have never hear of elephant poo paper that is so crazy, what a unique way to make paper. Funny and awesome at the same time.

  24. Zachary Kl. says:

All I can say is yuck and wow at the same time! They’ve taken reusing to a whole new level.

  25. I’m really not sure that I would want to touch something made from recycled animal waste…but it is neat that it’s possible to do that! I would never have imagined it!

  26. I love that Elephant Poopoo Paper! Amazing that it does not smell and that it is safe to touch. I think I would still be paranoid and wash my hands right after I used it! LOL! I really want to pick up the pad that has different color paper in it. My favorite color is purple and that pad has the prettiest purple color paper!

  27. Stephany A. says:

I love the idea of the poo paper!!!! thats soo cool thats it recycle and i would have never though from elephant poo! what people are able to do is amazing. And the three subject notebook with the colors fabulous!!! the moment i move and set my home office up im ordering some!! thanks :)

  28. Heather W says:

I am always interested in recycled products. I like how detailed your reviews were. I know my daughter would love the Roaring Spring Environotes Sugarcane Notebook because of the feel. I would probably just let her use it for home use though. I remember as a teacher how frustrating it was when I constantly received assignments with frayed edges because there wasn’t a perforated edge for them to tear it out clean. It’s not a big deal when there is just one or two papers, but when you put it in a big pile they all can get stuck together. Thank you for all the detail.

  29. ms. cox says:

Just goes to show you learn something new all the time, I will show this to my boys. If we used the PooPoo Paper for school work they’d be laughing the whole time. I liked the Genesis Shades.

  30. Wow this is really a great review and I learned so much from it cant believe but learned something really cool about elephant poo ;)

  31. Tiffany says:

    awesome, thanks!

  32. Wendy Pence says:

I love (no, LOVE) office supplies. I could spend all day in Staples & Office Depot! I will definitely check out these products. Thanks!

  33. Amanda Lyn says:

This is kinda awesome. Lol my daughter would get a kick out of this and love that shes recycling too.

  34. Karen Hand says:

I love the fact that the paper is from recyclable materials, even if it is from elephant poo. I especially like the wide ruled paper, which is hard to find.

  35. I may have read over it, but is this ok to ingest? I have young children (6y, 2y, 4m), what if one of them were to eat or chew on it for whatever reason, as the two youngest are BOYS. haha. Just curious is all. My daughter probably would think it was GROSS! :)

  36. Cant believe all the ways to recycle now! lol Thats awesome

  37. I am loving how creative and environmentally conscious the company is. I do like the Elephant Poo Paper and probably would invest in it.

  38. ericka coello says:

    It’s so cool. I love recycled products, I am a “greener” =)

    awesome

  40. Farrah Morelli says:

  41. Chelsey says:

I learned something new today! Elephant poo? Really? I would seriously use it just for the unique factor. lol Great review!

  42. Kim Withers says:

haha! I have seen that elephant poo paper before! I can assume, since you had nothing negative to say about it, that it doesn’t smell? :)

  43. Karina Lee says:

    haha. I love the poopoopaper

  44. Wow, it’s a very good thing that it’s odorless.

Very interesting products, it amazes me how many different things can be recycled or used to make such awesome products :)

  51. norma chabrouillaud says:

It dose make you think. Amazing info on elephants by products.

  52. Linda B says:

It’s amazing what things people come up with. I just wonder what the thinking process was for the poo paper! lol

  53. Brandi Price says:

I just don’t know how comfortable I would be using something that was made from poo… LOL

    • LOL I have to try everything at least once just to say I did. I will actually buy it in the future to help save our dying forests. Thank goodness it’s odorless ha.

  54. Chevelle Sopkin says:

This is the coolest thing ever. I think my son would dig it just because he’s a 3yr old boy fascinated by anything having to do with poo… don’t ask me why?! haha. I love the idea. How creative! I would totally buy this. It takes eco friendly to a WHOLE new level! Thanks for sharing this great review!

  55. Gena Durbin Carrico says:

Wow, I never would have thought somebody would be brave enough to try to make anything with poo. Just think of the odors they had to endure to make some paper. I’m glad that there are people who think of these things, because every little thing we do helps the environment.

  56. Danielle Williams says:

Wow that stuff sounds…ummm…interesting :) my mom collects elephants I think I might get her the poopoo paper :)

  57. Sharayah C says:

Thanks for sharing your review. I might check out the Elephant poo paper. I love buying recycled things but also that fact of where it came from is just soooo cool. :)

  58. CarrieAn13 says:

  59. Courtney P. says:

I love your reviews. :) The Elephant PooPoo paper really makes me wonder what made someone think to recycle elephant poo! LOL. :)

  60. Melanie A says:

OMGosh! I heard about paper being made from elephant …excrement, a few years ago! It’s so neat…although it makes me wonder who thought “hey, I think I’ll try to make some paper from this poo…”?! Might have to buy me some!!!

  61. Who would have thought of making paper from elephant Poo? If I hadn’t read this review I probably would have passed it right up!!

  62. sheila musselman askins says:

wow..who would have thought? lol that is the ultimate in recycling! thanks for the review!!

  67. Rebecca Parsons says:

I would have never in a million years thought of Elephant Poo as something to write on. But recycle is the way to go so why not.

  68. Nancy's Couture says:

I love using recycled products!!! I also love notebooks. I have a collection of them, I don’t know why, but when I walk by an aisle of notebooks I always stop and pick one up. I have to stash them so my husband doesn’t see my new notebook (that I didn’t need). I do have to say I don’t know that I could bring myself to use the Elephant PooPoo Paper. Even though odorless, the thought of it just grosses me out! My son on the other hand would think it’s awesome!

    • LOL at stashing them from hubby, I’ve done that a time or two ha. I don’t know what my obsession with note pads are but when I see a cute one I just have to buy it.

  69. Athena Emmaouilidis says:

HAHAHA @ POO POO PAPER. I really enjoyed reading your review!

    • Ha thanks so much. I called and emailed more people than usual to tell them about this particular review item, I didn’t want to be the only one that has elephant poo poo paper you see (lol). I don’t think some of them believed me until it came in and I showed it to them hee hee.

  70. Julie says:

I love using recycled when possible, but not sure I could get past the poo in elephant poo paper- excellent review, I will be sure to look into this brand.

  71. Nels A. says:

Wow, that is the ultimate in recycled material. Elephant poo paper, quite the novelty.

  72. Azslyn Cole says:

i love the colored paper it is fun and it has quite a bit of paper, I am kind of creeped out about the whole poo thing but i suppose if it’s not going to harm us then it’s just fine

  73. Hahaha… you said poo ;) Love reusable products and companies that produce them. I’d definitely like to check out the sugar cane paper. Sounds like a great product!

  82. Angie Miller says:

Looks like you have some great notebooks there. Great reviews, I don’t know I could think of better uses for elephant poo, like fertalizer for my garden. Thank you.

  84. deena vanbergen says:

  85. kimbuckjr says:

Holy Elephant Poo, I can’t believe that paper is really made from Elephant dung. Totally crazy! These products look like real top quality. I like how thick the Elephant Poo paper is. That’s cool!
Thank you for the awesome review. I’m checking out Shoplet after this comment.
    kimbuckjr

  86. Alright when you first told me you had elephant poo paper coming in I was like HUH? Yep I read it right and then I thought now how cool is that and who in the world thought to invent it. There are some very smart people out there I must say I’m impressed with the whole idea. I don’t want to be where they make it thought ;)
Awesome stuff to review. I’m loving the colorful notebook. I love all the colors! So when you find the time during the 19374y924y7t4707t472074794762-3 things you have to do I would like a letter on the purple paper please :) Great review!

    • I don’t think anyone I told I was going to do a review for Elephant poo poo paper “oo” believed it was actual poo. I think they thought it was just the name. Oh boy did I fool everyone when I showed it off lol.

  87. Chelsea L says:

Poo poo paper?! I love the name! And love that its recycled!

  88. amy t says:

now thats definately recycling!!!! but really neat how they came up with paper by what its made out of

  89. Stacie Teston says:

I am not really sure how I feel about poo poo paper lol. I think the idea makes me happy. I have 11 year old twins. I can’t decide if they would think it was the coolest notebook EVER or if I would be banished to the embarrassing parent room again :-)

  90. Brianna Beers says:

I never would have thought that it would be possible to make paper from poo..elephant or whatever kind. Why? Environmentally friendly..ok. But ehhh really! I prob would not buy it even though it says it doent smell like it..I pass. I do like the wide ruled paper idea. Thank you for another awesome review!!

  91. Very interesting! I am quite sure that an elephant would leave plenty of poop hanging around too. Might as well get a use out of it instead of letting it go to fertilize the land.

  92. Char W says:

Wow, what great reviews on all of these items! I think it is neat that paper can be made from elephant poo poo ha ha ha. It does look like it is coarse to write on and I am sure it is a wonderful conversation starter too. I love the colors available, and I am with you on wanting perforated pages in a wired notebook. I love that they used recycled materials whenever possible.

  93. Ha, that Elephant Poo paper is too funny! Just goes to show how many things you can really do with recycled goods…lol

  94. What a great review! Not only do I love elephants, this is really awesome! The bumblebee is what caught my eye at first glance.

The paper looks beautiful! Who would’ve thought! LOL I must definitely invest in some…thanks for sharing!

  95. Jodie Meehan says:

I found this review helpful. It’s really neat to be able to receive those items and be able to review them. I am creating an office in my house right now and those items seemed pretty cool. Makes me interested in finding out more information about shop let.

  96. Shayla Burks says:

I loved these reviews. You’re funny and entertaining while telling me everything I need to know about the products. I am a note taker, also. At the University that I attended, they provided us with touchscreen notebook laptops, and I never used it in class. I needed the pen and notebook. I wish I had known about elephant poo paper. Turning in an assignment on elephant dung may have made my day, knowing that the professor I didn’t like so much was holding it and didn’t know what it was. :) hehe …. o guilty pleasure I would get from that.

  97. This Girl's No Expert says:

I love colored paper! I have never heard of poo poo paper! Eww! ;) My girls would get a kick out of writing on paper made of elephant poo!!!

  98. Kathy McPherson Boccard says:

I had never heard of this brand either but I LOVE companies that give back and use recycled stuff!

  101. I love this review! i think I would actually LOVE to try the spiral that has the pink, blue and purple paper! Even if it is made from Elephant Poo! haha!!

  102. Terry says:

Well let me tell you… we can never have enough note pads….. I am just not to sure about the Poo Poo paper….. Hmmmmm I have heard they burn the poo for heat, so why not make paper with it.

  103. Thanks so much everyone. I can honestly say that I was the first person in my family to write on poo. That should go down in history don’t you think? lol :)

  104. I love using recycled when possible, but not sure I could get past the poo in elephant poo paper- excellent review, I will be suer to look into this brand.

  105. I have never heard of this line of office supplies but after your very thorough review i would like to try them

  106. Tracy D. says:

I can’t help but cringe at the elephant poo paper, but recycled products are better. Very nice review of each product.

  107. Great review. Elephant PooPoo paper should be the new green paper this year! I love your photos you out did your self this time.

  108. Never heard of Elephant PooPoo paper, sounds very funny. I like the bright colors!!!

  109. Serena Powell says:

I’ve never heard of Elephant Poo paper. That is definitely interesting. I wonder who was the first one to suggest it, I bet they got some odd looks. I need to get myself a set of it though I may feel the need to wash my hands after touching it. lol.

  110. Rhea C says:

What a fun review! You make me want to actually TRY these products…(even the elephant poo poo paper!) ROFL! ;D

  111. Diane Sallans says:
