I spend the majority of my days in our kitchen. I cook because I enjoy it. It helps me relax, it brings the family together, and I’ve just really come to appreciate the feeling of accomplishment when something turns out halfway edible perfectly. Having the right appliances to make that happen is essential. We are a social family, we entertain a lot. I decided after making pepper hash with about four other couples this summer, that it was time to find a blender that works well. FYI if you don’t know what pepper hash is, you probably aren’t from GA. Anyhow, we all met up next door to make a neighborhood size amount of the pepper hash. Everyone brought their own blenders and I was noticing that NONE of them were impressive. We ended up with hunks of hot peppers and other ingredients that should have been chopped consistently. So, I’ve been searching for THE PERFECT BLENDER since. Our pears are almost ready and I don’t like to cut them up. No one I know likes to cut them up. So… Will I have to dice our pears this year? Or, have I found that perfect blender yet? Keep reading to see…
Now, let me fill you in a little bit about our farming community here, surprisingly, when I review products for the kitchen, it’s the males that are not married and have to cook for themselves and the males that are married but still have to cook for themselves ;) that are most interested in my kitchen review products. Don’t get me wrong, our female friends are interested as well but it’s the males who are the first to arrive to see what the products are and it’s the males who ask the main questions. The top “male” question is “how easy is this to use?” Knowing that I was going to have to review my blender on here and show it countless times offline, I googled everything you can imagine about blenders, and every time I googled something I thought was relevant when selecting a blender, I ended up at the Blendtec website. After reading all about this blender, I knew it was THE ONE I wanted to review and share with you and our offline friends as well.
I received not one but two fantastic products from Blendtec to review; Total Blender Classic Series FourSide Factory Reconditioned Blender ($384.95) with a twist. That’s what I call my Twister Jar ($119.00).
I want to start telling you about my blender by mentioning the base, or, the brain, of the blender. The base comes in black, red or white. I like bright colors obviously lol. This awesome Blendtec blender comes with Smart-Touch Tec-nology© . What this boils down to is that when you select which cycle to use, the blender automatically does what it needs to by speeding up, slowing down and even shuts off when it’s finished. Smart, huh?
Now let me tell you how powerful this blender is. It turns ice to snow. No, really, it does. This blender uses 1560 Watts of power to turn your ice to snow. This is the first blender I’ve owned that not only crushes ice (and also comes complete with a Ice-Crushing Guarantee), it can replace 9 other appliances. From bread dough to ice cream, this blender does it all. I’ve never had so many healthy fruit slushies before. And milkshakes to die for. I’ve made cappuccinos, salsa and tomato sauce. I could even make fresh and healthy soup which we are going to do one night this week. We’ve been making fruit juice for the kids and things you just can’t imagine. We are still learning what all we can do with this blender and having a blast I might add. I’m one of the lucky ones who’s Mr. knows how to cook. So, he used this blender before I even had the chance to.
You might notice in the photos that my pitcher that came with the blender is square and not round. The big pitcher uses 4 sides and a straight blade to give each and every item consistency while blending. I’ve put whole tomatoes in mine, a whole green pepper and lots of fruit (I can’t wait to put our pears in there) and each time I got a great blend without large chunks of food. I have not tried putting whole garlic in my blender yet but I intend to try the next time we make a dish using tomato sauce. The blender came with a fantastic recipe book that we’ve already been putting to good use.
My Twister Jar is round and it’s designed to blend the thickest of foods. The twisting motion of it keeps the food away from the sides of the jar and delivers it right back onto the blade. This newest Blendtec addition is a must have for moms who make their own baby food. We live on a farm. Our kids grew up with fresh foods and yes I did make their baby food. We use organic gardening methods and I just felt like it was the healthiest choice for them. I didn’t have a fancy blender like this back in the day. This weekend I made some baby food using fruits and it is so much easier with my Blendtec blender and the Twister Jar than any of the blenders I’ve ever owned. We have some friends expecting and they wanted a demonstration on how easy it would be to make their own baby food. They were as impressed as I was. I love the spatula and the little recipe book that came with it as well.
I recommend this fantastic Total Blender Classic Series and the Twister Jar to anyone who spends even the smallest amount of time in the kitchen. You can throw away all of the other appliances the blender replaces. I don’t recommend products this strongly, lightly. Check these products out and you will be glad you did. Buy one and work towards all of the neat appliances made specifically for Blendtec blenders or just put it on your Christmas list if you have to.

You know I have a blender its a good name brand.. It is a blender and food processor all in one with the different jars and bowls. But this one actually looks like it might be a lot better than the one that I have. I will be doing some research on where it is sold and put it on my wedding register for sure. I don’t have a blender because my apartment kitchen has so little storage and I thought [wrongly] that my food processor would cover all needs. When I get the chance though I will consider the Blendtec. Looks like it does a great job and I think it’s stylish too!

I need a blender cause mine went out with hurricane Rita seven years ago. The Blentec blender has to be the top of the line blenders on thee market today and I would love to own one. There are so many things I could create with it from desserts to main dishes.

I’m glad that the Blendtec blender works as well as the company claimed. At first the “will it blend” series of videos of the blender grinding electronics seemed like a gimick but it seems like it was actually making a name for a good product. We have an older recipe for Italian “Gravy” or, Spaghetti Sauce to me… lol but the recipe calls for whole tomatoes within the base to be perfectly smooth in the sauce – no chunks. Our current blender just doesn’t cut it, so we tend to chop tomatoes and add it later on, just to mask that our base isn’t perfectly blended. Looks like this blender would do what our current one can’t!!

I love how you can replace a whole score of appliances with just this one… that alone would be worth the investment. ( I have a huge farmhouse kitchen, but no counter space..ugh!) I cant believe all the different functions this has I almost want to just thow away everything in my kitchen and use this!!!
I love the smart tech technology. My fingers are sore and sometimes buttons are hard to push. Smart tech is much easier on arthritic hands.
I would love this! I saw “Ice-Crushing” and I am already sold! I always wanted a blender that can chop up ice for ice blended drinks, but I always worry that the blender would die fast from the heavy chopping. This blender looks like it has great quality even after heavy chopping.

I would love to win this for my new years resolution. I love that you found this blender so easy to use, and that the blender controls are programmed so that you’re not continually pushing buttons in order to get things blended the right way. The Twister is a great addition, that eliminates the problem of getting the coarser blended food toward the top down to be fully blended. I definitely want one of these!

Love the fact that this blender makes snow out of ice. I’m a bit of a snowcone fanatic. Actually I like anything icy like that. I also make jams and jellys. This, with the twister jar, sounds like it would be very helpful to me.
I really liked the review. I love making fruit smoothies and often I use frozen fruit and have to wait until it unthaws a little bit to be able to make the smoothies. I have had to start using my blender for chopping because I can’t find all the work pieces of the food processors, very frustrating when items are not chopped evenly.
This is so much more than a blender and can save a household a lot of money. The recipe book alone is awesome.
I have owned a few blenders in my time, but none of them have ever been very good. One had a plastic jar that broke and one stopped working soon after we bought it. I did use my blenders for baby food , but shakes, smoothies sauces and other goodies like that were also made in it. Blendtec sounds like a great brand and is obviously a winner!!
I love that it is so easy to use. I have a program in the start-up stage that works with and teaches kids how to get into the kitchen and cook. Having items that are easy enough for kids to use is a bonus!

Blendtecs are like the Jeeps and the Ferraris of kitchen appliances. They are so useful – can do so much, but they’re sleek and fancy at the same time. They look pretty amazing but it’s not just looks! I’ve wanted one since I knew they existed.
All men love fancy gadgets, don’t they? It takes a really remarkable gadget to impress the men and the women at the same time though.

It makes Ice Cream?!!! I’m sold!!! :) Really though, I love that the Blendtec can replace 9 appliances! I have a huge breadmaker that doesnt really make good bread, but I use it as a stand mixer (which i dont have). Having the blendtech replace that and the possible need for a stand mixer would be great!

Lvoe the red color and that it is square. I am getting to where I hate round items because they are harder store and take up more room. Square things on the other had can be manipulated into fitting into tighter places.

I’m in love that this is a square rather than rounded sides. Great review and it really made me consider this one instead of a Vitamix (like I was thinking of before).
I am a grammy of 7 number 8 blessing on the way. I love to cook for my family and as it grows I need more efficant applicances that do more then one job. The review certaintly quailified this blender as the be all do all, from sauces o drinks to nuts and the way it adjusts it speed to accomplish the job,(wish I could have that feature)this would be such a joy in the kitchen while I am teaching my older grandchildren the importance of homemade meals,desserts and the gathering of family around the table.
Wow it does so much in one machine. I have so many gadgets in my kitchen with this I could get rid of some.
I can’t believe that one item can replace nine. My mixer I use for my bread dough is sounding rough….needs to be reconditioned. If I win, I know one item that it will replace! well, two my mixer is missing parts lol I think I would like the recipe to the Pepper hash :)

This would be amazing! Unlike you I dont love to cook but I do LOVE to bake with my girls. I cook because I have to lol but I bake because I love to. This would definately make my job cooking much more fun and exciting. I love to try new recipies however we do not own a power plender or mixer so sometimes it can be quit a hassle. I was burning up the motor of my old one after about 10 yrs of using it (a cheapo $10 walmart blender). My first question is the same as the “male” question LOL! And this seems very easy to use. I love the ice crushing capability–not that I would use that much crushed ice, but it does mean that his is powerful enough to do most anything.
I like the idea of the square jar instead of a round one. I always have a problem with my blender not blending evenly.

I have one and would love to give on to my parents as a gift. We make the most delicious fresh soups in this. I put the ingredients in a gallon zip lock in the fridge and my son can just throw it all in, press a button, and have fresh homemade soup in a moment! Cleanup –even he LIKES to clean it!

I would LOVE to have a Blendtec. I’ve been trying to make green smoothies with a cheapie blender and I keep burning them out and they don’t even do a good job. I love that the Blendtec has a 7 year warranty – SEVEN years! And if it can turn ice into snow in seconds, it can certainly handle frozen strawberries without a worry. Want one. Bad.

I have seen this “blender” in use and have thought it would be a great gift for my son. He does the protein shakes and such so I bet this would be awesome. It’s seems illogical that the blender does so well when the pitcher is square, and the blades can’t reach the corners….but if it can make smooth baby food, it must be moving everything everywhere. If they can do that, then that’s some good engineering!

I have heard nothing but great things about Blendtec. I love how it comes with Smart-Touch Tec-nology© That is something no other blender has. I also love all the different things you can make with it!
I am a vegetarian and i can see how this would take a lot of the tedious cutting dicing etc out of my hands- i love how it is so versatile.
I like that it is not round very smart on blendtecs part. The array of colors and the grind that you get is amazing. I would use something like this everyday.
I have heard great things about this blender, and that Twister jar looks fantastic! I have friends that have the VitaMix, but I’ve heard this one is better.
this machine is much more than the traditional blender; it will expand capabilities in the kitchen beyond what I thought feasible; making snow, milling grain, everything in between all in one machine, replacing at least 9 other machines! I will definitely be looking into this further.

I learned that this blender would be a wonderful addition to my kitchen I love to cook andto know that this one blender can grind, blend, puree, mix, ect…, is great. I would love to cut my time in half while cooking and entertaining.
I love the fact that it basically replaces the need for other appliances. We live in a small house, and there’s just not enough room here for more than the basics. BTW, I’m from Georgia, and I’ve never heard of pepper hash. I’m wondering if it’s similar to what I’ve heard referred to as chow-chow (not sure how to spell it, lol).

This one blender seems to have all the attributes I need. I like to make my own bread so out goes the blender for that. I like to make snowcones and salsa [without chunks] as well as peanut butter. This would be an awesome addition to any kitchen.

Yes, the blendtec is expensive, but if you do a lot of blending and food processing, it would be a good investment to get a top of the line, multi-use blender that should last forever (instead of always having to replace cheap blenders that break, burn out, or do not produce results you are happy with).

I was im[pressed by the “Smart Tec” button thingy! I like a blender who is maybe a little more intelligent than I am. Every little bit helps!! lol But it is good to know that it will even shut itself off, and not completely destroy the food inside – (making it into puree).

I am highly impressed! I love that it has a fully metal gear assembly. We love making smoothies and icees and we totally burned up the motor of a blender that was marketed specifically as a smoothie maker. I shredded the plastic gear off my expensive brand name blender. I need something like this!

This blender sounds awesome. I’m a country girl that makes relish , jams, jellies-all kinds of stuff that a good blender would be a good tool. I’ve got another reason, that little grandson I was talking about has to have major mouth surgery, He’ll he eating smoothies or soft food for a couple of weeks. My cheap blender broke (grinding cabbage) and his mom doesn’t have one. This would be a blessing to that little fellow. Thanks so very mush for this giveaway!

I love that this is made of BPA free plastic! My old blender was plastic and NOT BPA free… every time I’d make something in it I’d cringe knowing it was degrading the quality of my ingredients! After that one I had a glass jug blender… glass is nice but SO HEAVY! This Blendtec is my dream come true…. AND IT HAS A COUNTER! I know it’s silly, but I LOVE THAT! I use my blender so many times a day that I would love to take pride in seeing how many uses I get out of it!

I love the fact that I can multitask…right now, I have a Ninja that I use mostly for smoothies…if I need something to chop vegetables, I have to use a food processor and for smaller tasks I use my Magic Bullet…would LOVE to get rid of all of them and use just one appliance.

I love the fact that the Blendtec has the large and standard sized containers. Sometimes my vegan son needs a regular sized blender to make a smoothie, but when he’s making a big batch of blended soup, it would be fantastic to have the larger container! I like that it seems to be pretty large – but it weighs quite a bit, not sure if my wife can handle that. The warranty is pretty good though – that makes it easier to spend the money on it.

These machines are beasts. I’ve always admired them. They’re not fooling around with a 7 year warranty, either. I also love the shape of the container; makes pouring really easy and big enough to clean out with little effort.

This blender is AMAZING! With this über-blender I could throw out pretty much every other appliance (and scratch a lot off my wishlist!)

You can blend thick foods with this. My currently blender couldn’t even try to do that.

I can not begin to explain to you how terrible my current blender is. There is something so lovely about the Blendtec. My favorite thing about it is that I could put in whole frozen fruit without having to dice it up into little pieces before I try to make a smoothie. Oh, that in itself would be heavenly. I lost nearly 90 pounds and regained my health. Last night I was trying to make one of those italian ices. I had frozen my mixture and to eat it you have to put it in the blender. Would you believe my blender did not crush the ice. It has Ice Crush written right on it so I assuemed it would work…. but NOT>
