It’s National Nutrition Month and Milk Unleashed has a fun calendar about all the goodness found in milk. As a beverage, milk is an easy way to incorporate calcium into our diets.
Since shelf safe milk does not require refrigeration until opened, single-serving cartons can be taken to school, on camping trips, to sporting events or any other adventures without worrying about spoilage. It can be frozen it the night before so it’s just the right temperature at lunch…but if you don’t get around to drinking it – no problem…put it back on the shelf (it will last 6 – 9 months).
According to the Journal of Pediatrics, dairy and calcium intakes are inadequate in four to 18-year-olds. In fact, only 30 percent of the US population two years of age and older get the recommended level of calcium or more. Plus, most kids do not get enough Vitamin D, potassium and protein, either. The good news — all of these important nutrients are found in shelf safe milk. Let’s spread the word for National Nutrition Month.

My daughter LOVES milk so we don’t have to worry. My son we give almond vanilla milk, add some syrup (not often, or if he’s really thirsty he just drinks with no prob.
I never had a problem getting them to drink milk, or eat their spinach or broccoli. I think just letting them experiment and ‘try” worked the best. Of course leading by example worked too!!
I let them drink with chocolate syrup
we love milk and so we don’t have to add any flavoring but when we want a extra treat we add chocolate.
they just love it!
she likes chocolate or strawberry milk
My grandchildren love milk…chocolate is a treat!
My kids have always drank milk….they love it
We add a little chocolate to it
We try to limit sodas & sugary drinks so we made a deal with the boys. They drink one cup of milk for each meal, and they can have soda on the weekends (after their milk). It works pretty well!
Cannot keep them out of the milk, and never could, no matter how young they were.
milk is the only beverage I drink the most!
