With the holidays peeking just around the corner, have you started planning your festive menus yet? I’ve been working on a couple of my own menu’s for different events and this year I decided to implement some jumbo fantail shrimp from the Tender Filet. I love shrimp, in fact we all do. I could eat any type of fresh tasting shrimp, 3 meals a day, every day. I can’t speak for the rest of my family on that, but… I COULD. We eat it boiled, we eat it in salads and other dishes, we eat it fried, we eat shrimp almost as much as Bubba Gump.
Shrimp… According To Bubba Gump
So there you have it. Shrimp is, shrimply delicious, any way you serve it.
I want to tell you a little bit about the Tender Filet. What drew my interest to this particular company is that I read they make it easy to provide restaurant quality meals at home. That’s the type of food I want to serve to our guests. I want to make a meal that will stand out. While everyone else will be serving ham and turkey (which we plan to do as well), I’d love to provide that extra meat product that no one will be expecting. Shrimp!
After deciding what shrimp I wanted to try, I contacted the company and before I knew it, the shrimp had arrived. Our shrimp came frozen in a cooler with dry ice. It was packaged so well that I was impressed. It arrived in this nice heavy cardboard box with…
…an inner layer of freshness added in the form of thick see through wrapping.
I debated over broiling it or frying but the frying pan won that battle. Sizzle, sizzle, pop, pop.
The shrimp couldn’t have been any better at any restaurant and I was amazed at how quickly they cooked; lightly breaded and a nice golden brown.
We had more than half of the shrimp leftover because they really are jumbo shrimp. 4 shrimp makes an ample serving. Yes I did eat some for breakfast the next day. How did you know? And lunch…
I was so pleased with the flavor of the shrimp that I’ve already been trying to decide what I want to try next. I’m pretty sure the Marinated Flank Steak will win out on our next, Tender Filet, fine dining at home, adventure.
Depending on how many guest you plan to serve, the Jumbo Fantail Shrimp will run you between $39.95 – $263.00.
